Many carers say that the system of supports and services available to them is complex and fragmented, which makes the system difficult to navigate, particularly where multiple agencies are involved in a person’s care. Services are often viewed as lacking understanding, care and compassion, and as being inflexible and reactive. Carers feel there is a lack of quality choices in the services they need, particularly for respite care. (National Advisory Committee on Health and Disability. 2010. How Should we Care for the Carers, Now and into the Future? Wellington: Ministry of Health)
Brain Tumour Support NZ has invited Carers NZ to our online support group meeting to help carers of brain tumour suffers to address some of the issues they may be facing, either now or in the future.
Carers NZ is a national not for profit organisation supporting a network of approximately 490,000 individual carers and supporting organisations.
Please join us on 10th February at 7pm and register now at hi@braintumoursupport.org.nz
We hope to see you there 😃
