An Epic Journey for Brain Cancer
Kate Coatsworth was just six weeks into her move to Australia, when she was struck by severe headaches, leading her to collapse on a Sydney hospital Emergency Department floor. A stay in intensive care followed by brain surgery revealed a diagnosis of glioblastoma multiforme - grade 4 brain cancer - requiring 15 months of harsh radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments. Back home in Thames, Coromandel, Kate came up with the idea to do Te Araroa - New Zealand’s Trail - to raise funds and awareness for Brain Tumour Support NZ and she’s asking for people to join in.
