Students fundraise to honour late teacher
Students from Grey House at Whanganui Collegiate School were joined by members of staff to raise awareness and funds for Brain Tumour Support NZ in honour of their teacher John Dalman, who passed away from a brain tumour recently.
Mr Dalman was head of maths at Collegiate and was hugely respected by both staff and students alike. As part of the fundraising activities, practically the whole of Grey House had their head shaved, including housemaster Andrew Brunt. Collegiate teachers Chris Buckley and Costas Thrasyvoulou joined in by shaving each other’s heads.
Year 13 students Shaun O’Leary and Adam Beard (pictured bottom left) organised the fundraising as part of Grey House’s charity week. Overall the students raised over $7,000 for Brain Tumour Support NZ - an incredible amount and we can’t thank them enough!
