Brainy Beanies was a milestone event in 2024 as we took the beanies to Fielday’s for the first time. In preparation for this we put the call out for creators in march. We were absolutely blown away with the magnitude of support we received. Communities gathered from all around the country and knitted beautiful beanies of all shapes, sizes and patterns and donated these to us for our Beany sales. They arrived in the dozens throughout the months of March, April and May.

We counted 2500 beanies for this year ! Off to Fielday’s we went for 4 days of connecting and selling. Our team included trustees, staff and volunteers who have up their time to help us on our stand. We had a great few days despite the weather and learnt some valuable lessons for next year.

Brainy Beanies has become so much more than just fundraiser for Brain Tumour Support New Zealand, its become a chance for communities to come together and create for a cause. The stories we received were heartwarming and really resonated with us as to the why for so many.
