Mandy’s Story

All superheroes deserve their own comic so we’re delighted to launch Mandy’s Story - a comic about Mandy Bathan, the founder of Brain Tumour Support NZ.

Mandy collaborated with Professor Neal Curtis of the University of Auckland and Japanese-Kiwi painter and comic artist, Hana Chatani, to tell her story.

The comic is the latest in a series of research collaborations with Professor Curtis and the Centre for Brain Research exploring the use of graphic medicine in the field of brain tumours. It follows on from previous comics: Processing Your Tissue in the Lab; Mum’s Acting a Bit Strange; and A Caregiver’s Journey. All of the comics can be downloaded from here.
